Every summer Ontario Northland undertakes critical infrastructure work along the railway to ensure we meet industry safety standards and continue to provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation services to communities and businesses in the North.

Our top priority is to mitigate disruptions to communities and businesses as much as possible as this work is completed.

Curve Adjustment Program. Upgrading and adjusting track curvature to ensure safe and reliable travel. (Noise, night work).

Englehart

Englehart Shop - Track Construction. Construction of new track to improve service delivery.

June - July
Temagami

Ballast Delivery. Rock blasting and crushing, stockpiling crushed track ballast at ONTC's ballast pile. Increased traffic on Rabbit Creek Road during the working period.

March - May
Dane

Ballast Delivery. Delivery of track ballast to Ontario Northland's ballast pile.

April - May
Dane

Track Programs. Alignment of track, ballast replacement and switch maintenance and testing to ensure safe, reliable travel.

Earlton to Porcupine

Joint Elimination Program. Evening and overnight work, loud equipment working on track. Conversion of bolted rail sections to continuous welded rail.
