Onboard Wi-Fi and an Entertainment Portal are Coming Soon to the Polar Bear Express

Ontario Northland is pleased to announce the planned introduction of onboard Wi-Fi and an entertainment portal on the iconic Polar Bear Express passenger train.

The Polar Bear Express Wi-Fi service will mark a significant milestone in the agency’s commitment to modernization and response to customer feedback. Ontario Northland’s CEO, Chad Evans and Commission Chair, Alan Spacek announced the start of this exciting project at an event today in Cochrane, Ontario. Attendees enjoyed a unique opportunity to board the train and bus to experience the Wi-Fi and entertainment system.

Dignitaries also participated in a roundtable meeting after the event to discuss Ontario Northland’s transportation services to and from the James Bay Coast. The Polar Bear Express provides vital connections between the communities of Cochrane and Moosonee with a five-hour train journey through some of the province's most remote areas.
