ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Manager, Inventory & Warehousing is responsible for managing all aspect of inventory management and warehousing requirements for the entire organization. This position will establish, monitor and audit the controls and training surrounding new item creations, slow moving, receipts, transfers, and movement of inventory. The manager will review all of our inventory levels and adjust to operational demands, as well as oversee the warehousing requirements and establish industry best practices along with developing a long term warehousing plan.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct inventory control over $15-30 million dollars of parts and material
- Review and approve all new inventory requests, set the min/max requirements for proper cycle flow for all purchasing agents
- Review inventory levels and adjust to current operational requirements with proper investigation
- Review and investigate stores inventory transaction discrepancies
- Assist with internal and external inventory audits
- Travel to all ONTC Stores locations quarterly (minimum)
- Manage the shipping/receiving and warehousing of all customer owned inventories, complete trace reports, cycle counts and location of all products
- Audit customer inventory levels, perform counts, review usage and report monthly total of external customer owned inventories
- Ensure employees work safely and efficiently in a positive work environment
- Ensure inventories are locked, secured, protected or sheltered from the elements
- Lead EAM and ERP initiatives surrounding inventory controls and processes
- Work closely with operations and project managers to forecast inventory and warehousing requirements, plan increase or decrease initiatives
- Monitor all inventory transactions including ISO & AAR inventory, adjustments, losses or RMA’s and investigate
- Develop & maintain training materials for stores employees to utilize when receiving, issuing, transferring, or shipping inventories
- Work closely with the Stores Supervisor to roll out training and industry best practices
- Perform employee investigations and disciplinary actions when required.
- Provide leadership with warehousing best practices, controls, training, and health and safety at all warehouses
- Modernize and increase efficiencies with stores operations and levels of service
- Prepare and manage a 10 year plan for all warehousing and equipment requirements
- Work closely with the Stores Supervisor, Buyers, Procurement Officers and Project Managers
- Extract inventory data, create KPI’s and process improvements for warehousing requirements
- Manage freight contracts for all inbound and outbound shipments
- Identify potential cost savings opportunities based on process, past acquisition costs and implement process changes to realize savings
- Establish business cases for warehousing efficiencies, proving ROI’s
- Periodically audit warehouse racking, forklifts, and equipment to ensure it’s in safe working order and maintained to industry standards
- Implement green initiatives with our hazardous waste
REQUIREMENTS:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Business Management, Office Administration, Economics
- CPA designation would be considered an asset
- 3-5 years managing industrial inventory and warehousing facilities
- Experience managing & training employees in a shipping/receiving environment
- Experience with inventory management, costing and accounting
- Experience establishing and monitoring KPI’s
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
- Research, analytical and reasoning skills to assess and prepare a variety of reports
- Analytical skills to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Negotiation skills to work with clients, third parties and business partners
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Competent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, AS400, Infinium, Fleet Complete, ARI)
- Must be committed to company health and safety
