POSITION:                General Clerk (Replacement)

REPORTS TO:            Superintendent Maintenance of Way

DEPARTMENT:         Rail Infrastructure

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes mail
  • Maintain and distribution of M/W seniority list
  • Process/verifies timesheets, staff forms and record processing
  • Forecast and Coordinates Rail Infrastructure Manpower including vacation scheduling
  • Schedule and create Rail Infrastructure “On Call” roster
  • Provide and give information on manpower, rates, Agreements
  • CVOR/IFTA Truck Documentation verification and generates vehicle trip reports for the company vehicles
  • Takes minutes for Health and Safety committee
  • Bulletins and Processes Infrastructure Job Circulars
  • Maintains Personnel Development and inputs all Rail Infrastructure training records
  • Process Outside Party Charges regarding flagging protection, crossing upgrades and other work
  • Other general clerical duties as required for Rail Infrastructure – Dist. #1 -  Englehart        


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Completion of college business, accounting/bookkeeping and/or office administration courses are considered an asset
  • Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong keyboarding and computer skills with experience using Windows based applications
  • Must be available for short notice scheduling
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (strong grammar, spelling and proofreading abilities)
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and within a team environment
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Committed to Company Health and Safety
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are fluent in both official languages (English and French)
