(North Bay) Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (Ontario Northland) and Unifor Local 103 announced today that they have reached a tentative collective agreement for all five bargaining units.
“We are very pleased that a tentative agreement was reached with Unifor that balances the interests of employees with the organization’s need to meet its transformation and financial goals,” said Corina Moore, President and CEO. “This tentative agreement is another positive step for the organization as we work together to strengthen Ontario Northland. In particular, the changes incorporated into the shopcraft agreement will shape a bright future for our remanufacturing business and the communities of North Bay and Cochrane. ”
“We are proud of the hard work the bargaining team has done on behalf of our members and we look forward to presenting the agreement to them for ratification,” said Andy Mitchell, President of Unifor Local 103.
Unifor represents 303 unionized employees working in clerical, on-board service, stores, and shops at various locations throughout northern Ontario. Following ratification, shop craft employees will return to work as of Tuesday, December 15th.
No details of agreement will be released until ratification process is completed Monday evening.
