Thursday, June 25th, 2020 (North Bay, Ontario) Effective July 6th, Ontario Northland welcomes Drew Duquette as its Vice President of Transportation. Drew has worked in a number of senior roles including most recently at Canadian Pacific Railway as Superintendent of Southwestern Ontario. Duquette will be replacing Grant Bailey who is retiring in July.
(June 12, 2020 - Cochrane, Ontario) Ontario Northland will be reinstating the Polar Bear Express passenger train service between Cochrane and Moosonee effective June 25th. The train will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays with the same departure times.

Ontario Northland Temporarily Reducing Rail Passenger Service Between Cochrane and Moosonee in Response to COVID-19
(Cochrane, Ontario - Friday, March 20, 2020) Ontario Northland is temporarily reducing its service for the Polar Bear Express passenger train following a discussion with community leaders. The train will operate two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays, effective March 26, until further notice. There will be no changes to departure and arrival times.

Ontario Northland and Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Maintenance of Way Employees Division (TCRC MWED) are pleased to announce a tentative labour agreement has been reached.
Teamsters Canada Rail Conference MWED represents over 125 employees maintaining 700 miles of track in the areas of northern Ontario and northwestern Quebec from Moosonee, Hearst, Timmins, Cochrane, Englehart to Rouyn-Noranda, North Bay and many points in between.
Today Ontario Northland donated a used motor coach to Humanity First Shelter Bus. This innovative initiative provides a temporary, safe and comfortable place for those who are homeless to sleep overnight in various communities.
