POSITION:                  Junior Coordinator (Up to 12 Month Contract)

REPORTS TO:           Manager Production Planning

DEPARTMENT:          Remanufacturing and Repair Centre

LOCATION:                North Bay

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the Junior Coordinator coordinates the movement of external and internal parts to support production, project management and purchasing in a cost efficient and timely manner.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains and updates material and project parts, as well as status information in database spreadsheet to assess material descriptions, stock numbers, drawings and supplier references
  • Ability to review drawings, classify parts material, print and have familiarity to identify parts from drawings for inside and outside vendors for various projects within car shop
  • Identification and monitoring of parts and material, as well as organizing staging with stores
  • Investigate, follow up and track internal and external part shortages through process and resolve as necessary
  • Route parts and expedite movement of material and parts between FAB, Quality Assurance, Paint Department and Stores areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities
  • Reads production schedules, inventory screens and reports to determine type and quantity of parts required, availability of stock, and order priority
  • Ensures material inspections are completed to verify adherence to order specifications and liaison with Engineering to resolve issues, discrepancies and escalates issues as necessary

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or General Education Diploma (GED), post- secondary education considered and asset
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and word processing applications
  • Experience working within Production environments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good understanding of planning and scheduling techniques
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Commitment to Company Health & Safety
  • Bilingualism in both official languages will be considered an asset
